A few sunny days on the Breede River are a perfect weekend getaway. Xama Adventures offer rafting tours on the Breede River as day trips or rafting weekends. Easy paddling and sunny skies make for a blissful experience for friends, family or team building events. The trips are fully catered and Xama’s camp is conveniently located only 1,5 hours from Cape Town.

Rafting Day Trip

A rafting trip in the fertile Breede River Valley can be great mid-week break or you can combine it with other activities in the area.

After a light breakfast and safety briefing you will head for the river on two man blow up boats. Your day will consist of easy paddling, some swimming, sunshine and some bird watching – could it be any more blissfull?

Enjoy a scrumptious lunch on the river banks. On request we can even organize a braai and an overnight option is available.

Breede Rafting Weekend

Unwind completely during a whole weekend on the pristine Breede River. A rafting weekend is ideal for friends, family or teambuilding. Easy paddling, fun rapids and the picturesque surrounds make for content smiles all round. After a fun day in the sun, camp on the river banks under the stars and far away from the city lights.

Itinerary:

Friday: Arrive at the Xama Bush Lodge and meet our friendly guides. Dinner is served by the Xama crew as you start unwinding by the camp fire.

Saturday: After breakfast at camp and some safety and paddling instructions, we head for a fun day on the river. The day consists of some easy paddling, fun rapids as well as swimming and fun games in the river. No experience is required. The day is fully catered and fishing is possible.

Sunday: After a tasty breakfast, the morning is spent raft building and playing games. For the nature lovers and birders a hiking trail through the tranquil Breede River Valley is a great option.

What to Bring

• Shorts, T-shirt´s, hat or cap, warm clothes, warm top, walking shoes, sleeping bag, strops/flops
• Towel
• Swimming costume
• Camera
• Torch
• Plate and mug, knife, fork, spoon
• Toiletries
• Sunscreen
• Sunglasses (must have a strap)
• Personal medication
• Drinks: Soft drinks, we don´t allow any glass bottles on river (decant into plastic containers) Otherwise in camp, not a problem.
